Description
1968 VW Karmann-Ghia for sale in Greensboro, Georgia. Stop Looking...You've found it! One of the finest, Won Best Modified Convertible and Best Interior East Coast Karmann Ghia Treffen IV. Driven often as it should be. Well maintained and priced to sell. You won't be disappointed. Solid body and mechanicals. It has been examined by an independent, retired Mercedes Master Mechanic and found to have no rust. Purchased in 2009 from St. Louis Car Museum. Since then... *New Mercedes Fabric Top *New Wiring Harness *Tires (less than 200 miles) *Battery *Brake Lines *RetroSound Radio with JumpDrive/iPod inputs *Shoulder Harness Belts *Car Cover *Halogen Headlamps *Fuses *Muffler It's not perfect. Remember, It's 44 years old! *small paint chips repaired with touch-up (3 areas) *Small dent in chrome on front bumper (came to me that way) *needs new outer tie-rod on left front (I am having that fixed soon...UPDATE:Replaced tie rod 10/12/2012) *Original dash front has cracks. I didn't replace because the replacements look worse. *Passenger door hinge needs to be replaced because of sag (bent pin...I have new one to be installed) *Right side high beam works when it feels like it. I haven't looked into it since I don't drive it much at night. *Mechanic said syncro could be replaced on second gear in the future. Runs fine, but grinds on high RPM downshifts. Engine code shows it is a 1971 engine. It runs strong and starts first time. It has been modified with dual carbs. It has been serviced by a classic VW shop. I am not a mechanic or photographer. I am a dentist. My integrety and reputation are important to me, so I have tried to be honest about all I know. The photos really don't do it justice. Some were taken with my phone. My video is too large for the space they provide here. Please follow this link for a 6 minute video sure to win an Emmy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rc1txxh5Ll8) I will be happy to answer any questions by email or phone. This car has been a pleasure to own. You will be proud to be seen in this stylish, solid car. 706-817-9815
