When Carroll Shelby decided to continue his legacy into today’s marketplace, his Shelby Cobra “Continuation” series was born. Built on original 1965 Cobra frames, these cars went straight to the hearts of Cobra enthusiasts everywhere. Accurately titled as 1965 Cobra’s, the CSX4050 lets the buyer know Carroll Shelby was serious and that these are not kit cars in any way. But while they are ‘65’s, they have been upgraded a bit for today’s driving.

Shelby Cobra CSX4000’s were all produced as “Rolling Chassis” and delivered to Authorized Dealers for engine/transmission selection and final fitment. Built in 1997, this vehicle has a well-documented build and ownership history.

This Cobra features a 1965 Ford Holman-Moody 427 Side Oiler big block engine, giving it a ground pounding 480 horsepower with 2 Holley 600 cfm 4 barrel carburetors. Built with a Four-Speed Top-Loader manual transmission and a Performance exhaust system with HPC exhaust, green lights will take on new meaning. A Fluidyne radiator and electric fans cools things down as you heat things up on the streets. And a Canton racing oil pan and engine oil cooler makes the ’65 complete beneath the hood.

The Trigo aluminum 6 pin stainless steel spinners with knock-off hubs keeps rubber on the road where it belongs. Willwood brakes and rotors, and a custom Shelby differential, makes stopping a breeze. Vintage Smith dash gauges let you know what’s going on under the hood, and the leather seats and dash keep you comfortable for the ride.

A hand-laid fiberglass body compliments the style of the Cobra, complete with Shelby 35th Anniversary Blue paint that shines under any light. The white Shelby stripe and exclusive 427 Cobra badges complete the historic look.

If it’s safety you’re worried about, the custom Simpson safety belts will keep you and your passenger strapped in. The main electrical safety cut-off switch and built in fire-suppression system has you covered in case of any emergency.
